Ceramic processing facilities
- Laboratory weighing, milling, and mixing equipment to tailor
the ceramic compositions and ceramic phase microstructure (0.1

- 2 Thermolyne furnaces enabling us to fabricate monolithic,
chopped fiber, and particulate toughened ceramics to 1200°C
(10"x10"x12" hot zone).
- 1700(C high temperature furnace that will operate in air
or inert gas atmospheres.
- A Lindberg inconel retort furnace capable of 1200°C with
a controlled atmosphere - air, inert gases, or rough vacuum.
- Glove box facility for work in inert atmospheres.
Design/Analysis Facilities
- PC-based design and analysis workstations with SINDA, NASTRAN,
and ANSYS analysis programs.
- PC-based design workstations with SolidWorks 3D CAD program.
- Personal computers for all staff, Ethernet local area network,
and T1 Internet connection.
