CryoBond™ Adhesives & Coatings
CTD’s CryoBond™ adhesives and coatings are engineered
to provide specialized performance at cryogenic and high temperatures
for aerospace and ground-based applications. CryoBond™ adhesives
and coatings can be supplied in a variety of forms and packaging
styles (liquid, paste, and B-staged), making them compatible
with a broad range of applications and manufacturing processes.
CryoBond™ products attributes can include:
- Low density
- High strain at cryogenic temperatures
- Performance at very high temperatures (often from a product
cured at room temperature)
- Excellent adhesion to minimally prepared surfaces
In addition, many CryoBond™ products have been tailored
to meet specific performance requirements, and thus provide physical
and performance characteristics not readily available in the
commercial market place.
CTD’s CryoBond™ products have been used
to:
- Adhere and seal all-composite cryogenic containers (Dewars)
for experimental medical applications
- Adhere and mount superconducting electronic components and
conventional sensors onto cryogenic tanks and structures
- Adhere thermal insulation to aluminum and composite cryogenic
pressure vessels and tanks
- Provide an electrically insulating coating and adhesive
for superconducting magnets and their power and instrumentation
leads
- Adhere and seal cryogenic piping that cannot be welded, brazed,
or mechanically fastened
- Provide and overcoat for peeling lead-based paint and corroded
steel surfaces on highway bridges and other structures
