NANUQ® High Temperature Heater Technology for Process Industries
The NANUQ® ceramic composite electrical insulation system promises
to offer improved performance and heater economics when compared
to current state-of-the-art commercial heaters. The technology
allows for tailoring power density and operating voltage, while
providing superior long term electrical performance at temperatures
up to 850°C (1560°F). These advantages allow the end user to specify
a heater that meets their process requirements rather than designing
their processes around the limitations of current heater technologies.
Heaters utilizing NANUQ® technology are mechanically tough and
resistant to damage during handling, transportation and installation
as well as highly resistant to degradation from the environment,
particularly moisture.

NANUQ® High Temperature Materials
NANUQ® materials have been developed to deliver the performance required
of high temperature industrial heaters. High temperature heaters
are subject to severe stresses which can cause degradation of properties
over time. CTD has engineered its NANUQ® material systems to minimize
leakage current under long term exposure to elevated temperatures,
thereby increasing reliability and decreasing energy consumption
costs. NANUQ® materials are non-hygroscopic, eliminating the need
to provide hermetic sheathing and greatly reducing premature failures.
NANUQ® material systems are mechanically tough in the manufactured
state providing the benefit of a robust product during shipping
and installation. Target applications include energy intensive,
high
temperature process industries such as recovery of oil from shale
and oil sands, petrochemical manufacturing, and heat tracing.
